Recap: COPE at Loyola University's Serve Fair
This year, our team headed to Loyola University for their annual Serve Fair — and it turned out to be one of our best recruitment days yet.
Connecting with Loyola Students
The Serve Fair brings Loyola students face-to-face with organizations across New Orleans doing community-based work, and COPE was proud to be one of them. We spent the day talking with students about what mentorship looks like, what it means to be a COPE mentor, and how they could get involved.
The energy was contagious. Students came ready to ask questions, learn more, and — in a lot of cases — sign up on the spot.
A Warm Welcome Back
We're especially grateful to Typhanie Jasper-Butler, who invited us back to the fair again this year and was a huge support throughout. Having that kind of champion on campus makes all the difference in building lasting university partnerships.
The Results
Thanks to the Serve Fair, we brought on a wave of new mentors this year — a huge boost to our Loyola partnership and to COPE's mission as a whole. It's proof that when you show up and make real connections, people show up for you too.
Looking Ahead
We can't wait to be back at the Serve Fair next year, and we're excited to keep building on the relationships we made — helping these new mentors get matched and get started making an impact with COPE.
