In the Classroom: Our Partnership with Esperanza Academy
One of the things we believe most at COPE is that mentorship doesn't only happen outside the classroom — sometimes the most meaningful support shows up right in the middle of the school day. That's the heart of our partnership with Esperanza Academy.
A Partnership Built on Presence
COPE volunteers are in Esperanza Academy's classrooms every Monday and Wednesday, offering push-in support to students. It's simple, consistent, hands-on help — the kind that can make a real difference in a student's day, and in how they see the adults who show up for them.
This partnership continues into the 2026–2027 school year, and we're proud of the relationship we've built with Esperanza's teachers and staff to make it happen.

Why It Matters
For a lot of kids, having a familiar, caring face in the classroom — someone who isn't a teacher, but who's there to help — makes a real difference. It's an extension of what COPE is all about: building relationships that help young people feel seen, supported, and capable.
Looking Ahead
As this partnership grows, we're excited to keep strengthening what it means to show up for Esperanza's students — in the classroom and beyond. We're grateful to Esperanza Academy for welcoming COPE into their school community, and we look forward to what this next school year brings.
